Fangs in Buckinghamshire

In March of 2024, Frances and I spent a week hunting in the Southeastern English Counties of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire. A wonderful trip led by Owner, Joe Croot of Royal Outfitters UK provided us with another two of my dream animals, Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer.

Muntjac
Chinese Water Deer

Hunting involved walking for 5-9 miles every day, checking out huge agricultural fields where the Water Deer hung out, or dense copses in which the Muntjac sneaked like miniature Bushbucks and Whitetail deer.

Both animals were taken with an MG Arms Ultralight in 6.5 Creedmoor

I describe the trip’s adventures and how they relate to conservation efforts in a series of articles that appeared in late 2024, in Dallas Safari Club’s Game Trails and Safari Club International’s Safari Magazine.
